Rescue Dog of the Month: Banjo
Project: Highlight the benefits of adopting an older shelter dog.
Role: I filmed, directed, and edited this piece as well as laying down the soundtrack.
RIP Banjo! You were the best Cow (one of many nicknames)!
Sierra Delta:
Derek Hill
Project: Help bring recognition to the programs available to veterans through the Sierra Delta ‘Life Buddy Program’ which empowers every Veteran with access to approved dog training that provides purpose, innovation and community through the love of dogs.
Role: I think the creative brief went something like this:
Internal Client: We want to make a social post about us supporting Sierra Delta through the Blue Buffalo Foundation
Me: Cool! Whatcha got?
Internal Client: All we have are these 5min long videos and an hour of VO that isn’t synced to, or relates to any of the footage!
Me: Let’s get creative!
Red, White, and Blue Bars: Animation Breakdown
Project: Animate new logo to announce and bring awareness to new packaging, print, logo, and designs.
Role: Taking print-based files and documents and make something cool and exciting. As you see to the right I start with the little details and work my way up to designing the entire animation that would be placed into Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Broadcast.
This was a lot of fun to animate. This was one of the rare instances that I could look at the creative and just know how I was going to approach and animate this piece. It also helped that the design was steller to begin with! Shout-out to Bear at Blue!

Starting by taking this apart in Illustrator and Photoshop. Adding some circular rotation and a displacement map to get the fluttering effect.

Taking that previous animation and extending it to the other banner? Flutter? I have no idea what they are but I know they have a name. I just can’t remember what they are ATM. Stanchions? Hell, I don’t know. Contact me if you know what they are… bunting maybe?

Bringing the whole piece together. Everyone was jazzed including myself because it was going to be on a tv tagline. I get giddy over shit like this!

THE OPENER
Project: A local performer, inspired by the golden era of Hip-Hop, faces adversity as he struggles to make a name for himself in the local music scene.
Role: I was 2nd DP on this local indy film. Since this was a passion project and a very limited budget there were 3 DPs. Each working collaboratively so that all of our styles matched up. I was also sound guy on a couple of the shoots.
Was great working with such a synergistic group. We were all wearing different hats, lighting, sound, DP, PA. It was great helping to make Writer & Director Kevin Savo’s dream come to fruition. He is also great to work with and I seriously admire his passion. I can’t wait to work with him again.
MasterCard:
MasterPass
Project: Extol the virtues, easy-of-use of the MasterCard MasterPass. We got this gig as the people working on it previously either dropped the ball or had to resign from the gig. Either way we got it!
Role: Animation and design. Also team with Creative Director to use the materials that was already done, and matchup the solution so that it wasn’t as janky as it looked before and was a seamless transition to the new work we provided.
